The next Mental Calculation World Cup will be held on 15-17 July 2022 in Paderborn, Germany.


The best mental calculators from all over the world are invited to the 9th Mental Calculation World Cup.

Date: 15-17 July 2022

Venue: Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum, the world's largest computer museum in Paderborn, Germany

Schedule and rules: Each mental calculator will have to solve tasks in different categories (addition, multiplication, extracting roots, calendar from memory and surprise tasks).

Titles and Prizes: All participants will receive certificates.  Successful record attempts will be registered as world record.
The participant with the best total score will be awarded the title "World cup champion - combination". The participant with the best score in the surprise tasks will be awarded the title "World cup champion - most versatile calculator".
The winners in the categories "addition", "multiplication", "extracting roots" and "calendar calculation" will be awarded the title "World cup champion for (category)".

Problems to solve: Examples for problems to be solved in previous competitions can be found at the bottom of the results list of the years 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 , 2012, 2014 , 2016 and 2018

Registration:
Deadline for registrations was 15 May. The names of the qualified participants can be found here.

Organizational stuff: Participants have to book and pay their hotel rooms. Information about hotel reservations can be found here.
The participants will not have to pay an entry fee and they will not receive a fee for their participation. However, accompanying persons will have to pay a fee (about 70 per person) for social events, catering, etc.
Please contact us soon enough if you need a formal invitation letter for visa purposes. Keep in mind that in some countries visa formalities can take a long time!
Please study the Covid-19-related entry and quarantine regulations for travelling to Germany.
When visiting the venue of the MCWC, the 2G rule (vaccinated or recovered) applies to persons aged 18 and over.
For 12-17 year olds, the 3G rule applies: vaccinated, recovered or tested (negative rapid test of an officially recognised test centre, which is not older than 24 hours)
No proof is required for children under 12 years of age. Please remember to bring an identity document!
