Joggling World Records

Joggling combines running (jogging) and juggling. Joggling requires the competitor to juggle at least 3 balls while running. These lists give an overview about the development of various joggling world records.

Comments, corrections, information about new records and record attempts, additional video links etc. are very welcome to info@recordholders.org

A comprehensive list of joggling results can be found in the Joggling Results Archive.

THE RULES

(If you want to break a record that is published in a record book or governed by an international authority, there may be other or additional rules. See here for more information.)
  1. This record is for running in the fastest possible time, whilst juggling 3,5 or 7 objects.
  2. The balls (or clubs) should be juggled every step of the run. All patterns used must be continuously alternating right-left-right-left. No left-left or right-right will be allowed at any time. No "multiplexing" will be allowed.
  3. Jogglers must cross the finish line in full control of the juggle. The balls must cross the finish line first, followed by the joggler’s torso.
  4. If at any time any of the objects are dropped or touch the ground, the person attempting the record must stop and carry on from that point.
  5. When joggling with three objects, there should be one throw for every step (ex.a competitor may not throw an object high in the air and in front of him/her and run to catch up to it.). When beginning from a stop, the runner is allowed two steps before he/she is required to juggle.
  6. Every step must be witnessed by independent witnesses who are not connected with the actual attempt but are prepared to help with the authentication.
  7. A course measuremet protocol should be provided. Marathon and half-marathon records have to be set in an organised official race.
  8. In relay races, one ball must be passed to the next runner (serving as a "baton"). The approaching joggler may stop joggling as soon as he or she enters the handoff zone. The handoff of one ball to the next joggler must be made inside the exchange zone, and the receiving joggler is allowed two steps before he or she must begin joggling.
